We get the chance to work with some great leaders and amazing businesses. That’s become even more apparent in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. More and more, we’re hearing incredible stories from our clients about ways their teams are stepping up in the face of crisis.
Our Marketing Director, Matthew Coleman, had the chance to speak with Kia Carpenter, Business Office Coordinator for the Brookdale Senior Living Community in Gig Harbor, WA.
“If not for those front-line workers, I don’t know where we’d be right now… They give 100% of themselves to the people that they’re helping and it’s really and truly a beautiful thing to see.”
Kia shared stories of how the whole community is rallying to support each other. From the top of the organization to the local employees, everyone is pitching in wherever they can.
The leadership team is showing up in jeans and work gloves and doing everything from cleaning bathrooms to serving meals. The corporate office is educating everyone its employee support systems including PTO transfers, options for daycare assistance, and how to get testing covered properly.
As for the inspiration provided by the employees, Kia said, “If not for those front-line workers, I don’t know where we’d be right now… They give 100% of themselves to the people that they’re helping and it’s really and truly a beautiful thing to see.”
